The paper route, rebuilt

Local news still decides who a town trusts. We bring it back within reach of the businesses that make the town run.

PaperRoute PR was founded in Sarasota in 2026 as part of Open Venture Group, a Gulf Coast company that builds and operates local service businesses. We watched the same thing happen to our own companies that happens to every small business: national press release wires took hundreds of dollars, blasted stories to sites nobody reads, and reported success as a distribution count.

Meanwhile the thing that actually moves a local business, a story in the outlets your neighbors read, had no affordable product behind it. Enterprise services do real local distribution for national brands at thousands of dollars a month. Main Street had nothing. So we built the route.

Hand-verified

Every outlet on a route is checked by a person: how it takes news, who reads it, what format it wants. Routes get pruned to what actually publishes.

Proof-first

Every release ends in a report you can check yourself: pickups with links and screenshots, AI citations before and after. Including when the news is not good.

Local-only

No national blasts, no syndication theater. One metro at a time, opened only when its route is real.

Why the paperboy?

Because the paper route was the original local distribution network: reliable, personal, and door to door. The route is still the job. The doors are just newsrooms, Google profiles, and AI assistants now.
